What is equine-assisted therapy?

Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT), (or Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)) is an experiential, counselling service. Each counsellor or therapist is a skilled helper assisting clients to reach their own personal goals and objectives, assisted by the presence of horses, and the therapeutic farm environment.

Why horses and what do they bring?

Equines are highly sensitive animals, who are not predatory, but instead have survived throughout the centuries by being highly attuned to their environment and those around them, thereby keeping themselves, and their herd members safe. They gift us with their ability to provide in-the-moment feedback about our own internal state.

So, what do we do?

We provide high quality Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT), with a qualified mental health practitioner, to help people work through any issues, enabling them to live happier and more fulfilled lives.

Our therapy is grounded in various proven therapy modalities, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Body based (somatic) techniques.

Monster, Red, blue, MaplE, Moo & Aurora

Malbec Monstar, a 14-year-old gentle giant, is perfect for building confidence in newcomers. Red, an Arab cross pony, is a cheeky favourite with a love for scratches and cuddles.

Blue, with one blue eye, is a tiny, wise soul teaching trust. Maple, has swiftly become the leader of the mini herd, and is a very clever little soul tiny but mighty. Moo is a very shy young boy who loves his carrots. Aurora is a 28 year old donkey and loves bananas and people.
