What is your NDIS provider ID?

We are proud to be a Registered NDIS Provider. Our NDIS provider ID is: 4-JMJPKOS.

What happens in an equine assisted therapy session?

Your first session will be a longer session to enable us to do a full assessment and intake process. You will be asked about your needs, goals and history. There is no need to disclose anything you do not wish to, but the more we know the more we can help. We will explain the process and discuss your goals and objectives in-depth, along with your resources (internal and external) to help you meet those goals. You will be asked to sign an agreement, which we also sign to confirm your privacy and confidentiality in all discussions. An individually tailored therapy plan will be developed with your input, usually at least four to six weeks long.

What happens in an equine assisted learning session?

You will be as up close and personal as you feel comfortable to be. Activities range from a simple as meeting the herd, to grooming and leading the horses through specially built obstacle courses. All programs are tailored to individual’s or group’s objectives, from confidence building, capacity growth, and horsemanship lessons to corporate leadership programs. Call us on on 0413 369 507 to discuss your needs.

What should I wear or bring?

Long pants or jeans and enclosed shoes are a must, ideally, boots if you have them. Please dress for the weather as we will be outdoors most of the time. Sunscreen a hat and water on warm days (and even on chilly sunny ones!) and sunglasses and gloves if required. Please bring plenty of water and any snacks you might want for longer sessions or workshops.

Do I have to know much about horses?

Absolutely nothing, in fact, most of our clients have never even experienced being in the presence of horses, making the experience all the more poignant. We will make sure you are safe around the horses and a safety briefing happens at the start of every session, regardless of your experience.

Do I get to ride the horses?

No, this is not a riding school, and I am not a riding instructor I am a therapist, working alongside the intuitive nature of the horse.  This is an experiential learning/therapy experience and all activities are from the ground only. If you are looking to further your experience with riding I can recommend good instructors for this purpose.

What qualifications do you have?

I am a qualified mental health practitioner holding a diploma in counselling and equine-assisted therapy, from Equine Assisted Therapy Australia (EATA registered Training Organisation No. 41482).

Do I need a referral?

No need for a referral, all are welcome as private clients. However, our services are recognised by NDIS, and we accept plan-managed and self-managed NDIS clients as well as private paying clients. You may however be referred by another therapist, your occupational therapist, speech therapist or physical therapist, your psychologist, GP or school counsellor.

How much does it cost?

Please refer to our pricing page for a detailed breakdown of prices for individual and group sessions.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! We understand that people may want to accompany you for EAL sessions or EAT sessions, and we welcome any support you need on the day. Please note, all must sign in and sign a waiver form and privacy and confidentiality agreement (for people accompanying therapy sessions) and take part in the safety briefing.
